I finally got back to some digital scrapping. I love being able to turn photographs into detailed memories with scrapbooking. These were just some fun snapshots of my kiddos. I used a new kit by Kim Hill called Young Love. The kit is perfect for upcoming Valentine pictures or even to make your own cards! You can find the kit in Kim’s store at www.cgessentials.com
Last weekend we headed south a bit for some snow fun. The kids have been anxiously waiting all winter for some good snow and we just haven’t had here in St. Louis. We did get a few inches the beginning of January but the temps were so cold the kids couldn’t enjoy it. So we packed up the snowsuits and boots and headed to Jackson.
Blane could have played in it all day. After about 3 hours I managed to talk him into coming inside. He loved making snowballs and throwin them at anyone in his path.
Brynn enjoyed making snow angels and dodging Blane’s snowball!
Capturing the changes in our children as they grow is one of my favorite aspects of photography. Photos can serve as reminders of special moments but they can also simply capture your child at any given day. I have noticed recently how both of my kiddos have changed so much in the past few months. We have gone through potty training my little guy to my big girl getting her ears pierced. So I have challenged myself to continue to capture more everyday moments of my children. I can help you do the same with a lifestyle session. These sessions are done in your home where your kids can just be themselves. I will capture them playing with trains or dolls, just being silly in their rooms, or perhaps even making artwork. So think about scheduling a special lifestyle session soon. I will be announcing a special deal on lifestyle sessions booked for February tomorrow so be sure to check back!
And of course, no post can go with out some photos! Here are 2 recent photos of my kiddos. These weren’t taken for any special occasion. Just decided to capture my kiddos in the morning just hanging out on the steps. So remember….you don’t have to pose and plan for the perfect picture. Just let your kids be themselves and let their spirits show through!
Ok Wednesday is almost over but still wanted to take the opportunity to post. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week and enjoying the bit of warmer weather we are having here in St. Louis. After last week these temps in the 40’s feel like a heat wave.
I often get asked for suggestions on “what should we wear for our session?” I have a bit more detailed info on this on the website but wanted to give a wonderful tip here.
HATS!!!
They can be the perfect compliment to an outfit. They can serve as a wonderful little prop and help throw some personality to a photo. They can be anything from sweet crocheted hats on a newborn, a fun flower hat on a little girl, a cowboy hat, or even a baseball cap for your little guy.
I have a large variety of different hats so always feel free to ask me to bring some along to our session. Kids love to pose and play in them!!!
My little guy turned 3 the end of December. With all the holiday stuff we ended up celebrating his birthday after Christmas was over. He made it very clear that he wanted Spiderman stuff this year. So of course he had a Spiderman cake and decorations. When I asked what his favorite part of his birthday party was he told me “blowing out candles all by myself!”

I love photographing newborns and babies! Since we will be welcoming a new little one into our home shortly I figured what a wonderful time to run some baby specials. Ok, well I am still working on the blog and hoping to have all the kinks worked out by the end of the week.
It looks like we are expecting some snow here tonight in St. Louis. The kids are both hoping we get enough to play in. I see it as another opportunity to capture some fun photographs of snow play! I see snow balls, snow angels and perhaps even a snowman in our future!
It has been so cold outside and they are both getting a bit tired of being cooped up in the house. We have had to turn bath time into our big entertainment for the day. They both can have so much fun with a bit of bubbles!
